Tips For Men

Tips For Women

(It should be noted that SOME of these tips cover both sexes)

Pick the right clothing.  Be sure you wear something that you will be comfortable in for the entire date.  Focus on good hygiene and your appearance before you leave the house, so you do not have to worry about this during the date.  Picking the right clothing also says a lot about who you are and how you feel about yourself.

Don’t expect Mr. Perfect, be realistic.  No one is perfect, especially on the first date.  Many men act the macho part initially and really are sensitive caring people.  Be relaxed and this will help the man relax.

Men (and women) can be really nervous or downright scared on the first date.  They might not show it, but most people are uptight on the first encounter.  This is especially true if you have not dated for quite some time.    Here are some suggestions to help you overcome that “stress”

Ask yourself what is the worse thing that could happen??

If you make a mistake, say the wrong thing or whatever, make light of it and apologize to your date.  Then move on with positive communication.

Are you putting up a wall (are you scared your date is getting too close too quickly)???  Politely state that you feel uncomfortable and that you want to get a chance to know the man.  Then see how things proceed from there.

Flirting on the first date can be FUN. You are showing your date he/she did not make a mistake.  Here are some tips for First Date Flirting.  Make eye contact.  Looking someone in the eyes shows you are serious and interested.  Smile openly and Pay attention.  Don’t be saying one thing and thinking about something else.  The other person will know for sure you are not being serious and only playing games. Keep the cute little phrases light and don’t dive in head first.  Don’t think you cannot do it; every body CAN flirt, even if only a little.  Just be sincere and HAVE fun.

Foods to avoid on First Date.  This applies to both sexes and is just FUNNY but so True.

Garlic                       Corn on the Cob                               Popcorn
Fried Chicken            Whole Lobster (no bib)                     Broccoli

Remember, you and your date are here for the same reason.  Have FUN, be Considerate, Maintain Positive, Open Communication.
